Loretta PAC Sends First Wave of Endorsements to Local, Women Candidates

New Jersey – The Loretta PAC, chaired by Peggy Hayden and guided by the principles of former Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg – equal rights, women’s rights, government transparency, justice, and shattering glass ceilings – has made its first wave of endorsements and donations ahead of the November 8, 2022 election.

All the recipients are women and many are making history, such as: Petra Gaskin running to be the first Black woman to be on the city council in New Brunswick; MariaElena Bellinger running to be the first woman Mayor of Paramus; and Cindy Matute Brown running to be first woman Mayor of West Orange.

“This is why we started the PAC in the first place, to support local candidates fighting for local communities for all the right reasons,” said Loretta Weinberg. “With the national assault on abortion rights, voting rights and environmental justice, we as concerned citizens cannot lose focus on the local level. We cannot forget how important it is to support the next generation of troublemakers, to have council members, school board members, mayors and county commissioners who share our values and fight for our civil rights right here at home.

“We are proud to be supporting such an historic, diverse and gifted group of New Jersey women, and we are only getting started.”

The Loretta PAC is proud to endorse and contribute to the following candidates:

  • Ashley Neuman and Jessica Nichols – Candidates for Manville Borough Council
  • Susan Quatrone and Christie Del Rey-Cone – Candidates for Rutherford Council
  • MariaElena Bellinger – Candidate for Paramus Mayor
