For Latina Candidates in the 2018 May Elections

 

Newark, New Jersey- April 17, 2018– With Democrats showing a strong performance in the upcoming elections, LUPE PAC proudly announces the endorsement of the following Latina candidates who are running for office in the 2018 may municipal elections.

 

  1. Liza M. Lopez– Candidate for Mayor, Belleville.
  2. Maritza Davila – Candidate for Re-Election to City Council, Paterson
  3. Melissa Enriquez-Rada – Candidate for City Council, Bayonne
  4. Katilia Velez– Candidate for City Council, North Ward, Newark
  5. Ariagna Perello– Candidate for Councilwoman at Large, Newark.

 

“It is with great enthusiasm that our board has voted to endorse five candidates running for public office,” stated Campos-Medina, President of LUPE PAC. “As we continue to expand our resources to help elect Latina’s get elected to public office, we strongly feel that each of the five candidates are leading in their communities because of the strong positions they possess on key policy issues such as pay equity, immigration, and economic opportunity. Our goal is to continue to support candidates who run on platforms that are focused on promoting the values and policies affecting Latino families.”

 

LUPE PAC is the premiere statewide organization supporting the interest of Latinas and promoting more Latina representation in NJ politics. LUPE PAC is a non-partisan political action committee whose mission is to increase the number of Latinas in elected and appointed office in the State of New Jersey. The organization promotes and supports progressive leaders who stand up for an agenda that invests in political leadership and advances critical issues that matter to Latinas in New Jersey.
