LUPE PAC Welcomes Four New Board Members; Sets Aggressive Campaign for 2017 Legislative and Gubernatorial Races

 

New Jersey, February 28, 2016– LUPE PAC, the premiere statewide organization promoting more Latina representation in NJ politics, proudly announces the addition of four new members to its Board of Directors. The list of distinguished Latina leaders include:

 

 

Milly Camacho- Attorney for Camacho Gardner & Associates

 

Julie Diaz- Political director for SEIU-32BJ

 

Laura Matos- Political strategist and public relations executive with Kivvit

 

Cristina Pinzon- Community activist, public relations executive and owner of Stateside Affairs

 

With the addition of new members, the Board of Directors voted to implement an aggressive agenda for the 2017 gubernatorial and legislative races in New Jersey.

 

“I am excited to welcome our new board members to the LUPE PAC Board.  Together we will continue to build the bench with progressive Latina leaders who are ready to step up to higher office, we will support our Latina incumbents and advance every opportunity to get more Latinas elected,” stated Patricia Campos-Medina, President of LUPE PAC. “Last year we protected incumbent Mayor Wilda Diaz in Perth Amboy and invested money to elect Freeholder Germaine Ortiz as well as three other local council seats in Passaic and Bergen County.  We will continue to target key races and make sure those women who step up to run, have the tools and resources to get elected.”

 

“I am excited to join LUPE PAC and look forward to using my skills and knowledge of NJ politics to support more Latinas in political office in NJ,” stated Laura Matos of Kivvit.  

 

“LUPE PAC has played such a critical role in advancing the interest of Latinas so far that I am excited to join them and support their mission,” stated Julie Diaz, political director at 32BJ SEIU.  

 

Current board members include: Patricia Campos-Medina, President; Zulima Farber, Vice President, Arlene Quinonez-Perez, Treasurer, Sonia Delgado, Secretary; Analilia Mejia, Ana Maria Tejada, Lizzete Delgado-Polanco, Carmen Mendiola, Carol Cuadrado, Grissele Camacho, Katilia Velez, Kay Licausi, Lucia Gomez, Noemi Velazquez, Shawn Laurenti.
