PRESS RELEASE

Toms River, New Jersey – Andy Kim, who has found himself in hot water over yet another blatant lie in his latest television ad, is being called to task for “stolen honor” yet again by the MacArthur for Congress campaign. Today, the campaign released a digital ad, “Stolen Honor”, which will reveal yet another incident of Andy Kim pretending to be something he is not. The digital ad can be seen by clicking here: https://youtu.be/5SNfq3hZDjI

“Andy Kim stood by while the Mayor of Hoboken made him out to be a war hero by falsely claiming he traveled overseas to ‘literally fight and sacrifice his life.’ I know real heroes who sacrificed their lives. We fought together, tirelessly, for a country we love and are proud to defend,” said Assemblyman Ryan Peters, a United States Navy SEAL, who served four tours of duty in Iraq, Afghanistan and Central America. “Andy Kim did not fight, nor did he sacrifice his life. I give civil service professionals their due, but the ones I know would never describe their job – or let others describe their job – with the kind of rhetoric Andy Kim has. Putting Mr. Kim in the same category as true military heroes is disingenuous at its best and intentional fabrication at its worst. Most importantly, it is disrespectful to those that have served, do serve, or lost their lives serving the country they love honorably. Mr. Kim should correct the record, not only to portray himself honestly to the public, but also out of respect for the military men and women fighting for our country daily.”

Kim, who has been busy campaigning in Hoboken and Philadelphia, was caught on tape accepting applause at a recent event with the Mayor of Hoboken saying he “has gone overseas to literally fight and sacrifice his life.”

MacArthur for Congress Strategist Chris Russell concluded, “This is yet another blatant example of Andy Kim pretending to be something he’s not. He’s an unemployed tax cheat who got caught embellishing his national security resume and had to change his website to back off his inflated claims. In his latest TV ad, Andy Kim stretches the truth again by trying to fool people into believing he worked closely with President George W. Bush as a ‘national security officer’ when the truth is he was a 22-year-old entry level worker for a few months at the United States Agency for International Development before going back to school. Now, he is caught on tape accepting the Mayor of Hoboken’s characterization of him being some war hero and never even attempts to correct him or honor those who were true heroes. Andy Kim’s campaign is built on a string of lies that are beginning to catch up with him.”
