MacArthur Slams Kim for Fundraising with Warren Again

Warren repeatedly voted against Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst

Toms River, New Jersey – Congressman Tom MacArthur slammed Andy Kim for again fundraising with Senator Elizabeth Warren, who has repeatedly voted against the future of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

“Andy Kim’s decision to lock arms with one of the most extreme politicians in the nation, who has repeatedly voted against the tankers that saved Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, shows where his interests lie. I have worked with Democrats and Republicans to help secure the Joint Base, while radicals like Elizabeth Warren have put its future at risk. This is yet another example of Andy, who is a radical resistance figure, trying to have it both ways. He can’t stand with Elizabeth Warren and stand for the Joint Base, when she repeatedly voted to block the very mission that secured its future. I also find it laughable that she says Andy Kim is refusing corporate PAC money, when he is in the midst of a $900,000 coordinated expenditure with the DCCC, which is flush with corporate PAC cash. The hypocrisy of politicians like Elizabeth Warren and Andy Kim is staggering.”

The MacArthur campaign highlighted three Warren votes that would have doomed the Joint Base to the fate of Fort Monmouth – a victim of BRAC that left a gaping economic hole in the communities it encompassed and was surrounded by. There is also a copy of today’s fundraising email enclosed.

FY 2016 – H.R. 1735 – Warren Voted Nay
This bill contained language to prohibit the retirement of the KC-10, a provision expressing strong support for KC-46A Tanker as a critical enabler of power projection.  It also funded the KC-46 program at $2.3 billion.

FY 2017 – S. 2943 – Warren Voted Nay
This bill contained a sense of Congress that the Secretary of the Air Force, as part of the strategic basing process for the KC–46A aircraft, should continue to place emphasis on and consider the benefits derived from outside the continental United States.  This bill contained $2.9 billion for KC-46 procurement and additional funds for R&D. The bill also contained $4.6 million for KC–10A procurement

FY 2019 – H.R. 5515 – Warren Voted Nay
The bill includes $2.06 billion for procurement of 12 KC-46A air refueling tankers and $50.0 million for interim contractor support.  A section would require the Secretary of the Air Force to increase the current air refueling tanker fleet from 457 to 479 primary assigned aircraft before it can begin to retire KC-10A aircraft.  Language to express the sense of Congress in support of industry and Air Force ensuring that the first KC-46A tanker is delivered in fiscal year 2018.

Subject: Andy can win — the right way

Andy Kim doesn’t just have a great chance to win — he has a chance to win the right way.

Let me explain. Corporate PACs write huge checks to candidates during election season. Afterward, they come back to ask for favors.

You’ve seen the result: A Congress that works great for those at the top…and leaves the rest of us in the cold.

But Andy Kim decided at the very start of his campaign that he wouldn’t take a DIME from corporate PACs.

Did it make the road to victory tougher? Maybe. But it was the right thing to do. That’s called leadership.

I’m proud to support Andy for Congress — not just to flip a must-win seat red to blue, but to send a real leader to join me in Washington. Join me in supporting Andy’s grassroots campaign before the October 17 FEC deadline:

What makes Andy’s race even more critical is the fact that he’s running against the architect of “TrumpCare,” the health care repeal plan that would’ve gutted pre-existing conditions protections.

A few weeks after that heartless bill passed, Andy’s opponent got a reward from President Trump: a glitzy fundraiser with top GOP donors at Trump’s New Jersey golf course. One hand washes the other, I guess — but it all sounds pretty dirty to me.

If you’re like me, stories like that make your blood boil. But with your help, we can send this guy packing — and send Andy to take his place.
