MacArthur statement on Kim Campaign Official Attempting to Secure Internship
Toms River — Congressman Tom MacArthur issued the following statement in response to a “Campaign Fellow” for Andy Kim for Congress attempting to secure an internship with his district office:
“Back in January, it was reported that a local liberal political organization was recruiting people to ‘go undercover’ in my district offices, which is highly inappropriate and puts private data for hundreds of thousands of people at risk. The fact that a self-described ‘staunch leftist’ who serves as a ‘campaign fellow’ at Andy Kim for Congress would apply for an internship, shows that there is a clear attempt to bring politics into official government business. Our office has no political litmus test for interns and we have been lucky to have local students of all political stripes work with us on key issues facing the community, but this is wrong. If this is indeed a political operative attempting to infiltrate a congressional office, there is absolutely no room in government for this.”

Burlington County Times, January 31, 2018
On Sunday, June 24, a college student from Brick submitted an application for an internship with the Office of Congressman Tom MacArthur. His application did not mention his affiliation with Andy Kim for Congress.
After a brief, routine review of the student’s social media, it was discovered that the student is a self-described “staunch leftist” who serves as a “Campaign Fellow at Andy Kim for Congress.”
