MacArthur Statement on NDAA Becoming Law
Toms River, New Jersey—Congressman Tom MacArthur released the following statement after President Trump signed the Fiscal Year 2019 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) into law:
“Today we have reaffirmed our commitment to the men and women at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and all military personnel serving across the nation. The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) gives our servicemembers their largest raise in nine years and restores our military’s strength by investing in new equipment, training, and readiness efforts. Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst is our community’s largest employer, supporting 42,000 direct jobs and more than 100,000 total jobs, and is our nation’s premier air mobility, training, and technology base. The NDAA provides funding for 15 KC-46 refueling tankers at JB MDL and protects the future of the Joint Base and our local economy by not authorizing a Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission. I will continue to support our nation’s heroes and ensure they have the tools and resources needed to protect our country at home and abroad.”
