Majority Leader Louis Greenwald on Anniversary of Sandy Hook
(COLLINGSWOOD, NJ) – Assembly Majority Leader Louis Greenwald (D-Camden/Burlington) issued the following statement on the 6th anniversary of the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting:
“Today and every day it is important to remember and honor the lives of the 20 students and six adults who lost their lives in the horrific mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. The loss of a child is never easy, and my heart is still with the families that endured so much six years ago. My thoughts are with the entire Sandy Hook community.
“While they will never know it, these 26 students and teachers have made an incredible impact on our nation, inspiring change. Their memory lives on in the hearts and minds of the millions of Americans they have touched. Since 2012, New Jersey has enacted numerous laws to curtail such senseless acts of violence, and we continue to work toward ending gun violence in our world.
“We continue to stand with the parents of Sandy Hook and the overwhelming majority of New Jerseyans who have voiced their support for stronger gun laws, putting the safety of our communities first.”
