Malinowski to Lance: Partisan Games Are a Threat to Israel

For decades, support for Israel as a democratic, Jewish state, and for maintaining an unshakeable partnership between the United States and Israel, has been a common cause uniting Americans across partisan lines.  Turning support for Israel into a partisan issue for short term political gain, as Leonard Lance and pro-Trump Republicans are doing, is incredibly irresponsible and will endanger the US-Israeli partnership.

“Israel’s alliance is with the United States, not with the Republican Party — to suggest that Democrats can’t be pro-Israel will alienate tens of millions of Americans, especially younger people, without whose support our alliance with Israel will not survive,” said Malinowski. “Fueling polarization on this issue is particularly dangerous at a time when anti-Semitism is on the rise in the United States and globally.”
