Malinowski Releases Gun Violence
Prevention Platform
(Bridgewater, NJ) On the eve of the NJ07 Youth Town Hall for Our Lives, the Tom Malinowski for Congress Campaign has released its gun violence prevention platform designed to advance common sense solutions to address our nation’s gun violence epidemic.
“It’s time to end the NRA’s chokehold on Congress, reinstate the assault weapons ban, and raise the minimum age for purchasing a firearm. If you can’t buy a beer until you’re 21, you shouldn’t be able to buy a gun. These are just some of the common sense reforms our nation’s young people are demanding of their representatives. No child should be afraid to go to school, and Americans from all walks of life: students, parents, law enforcement, veterans, and law abiding gun owners, are demanding that we act to keep our kids safe,” said Malinowski.
Malinowski has been an outspoken advocate for common sense gun reform. A former National Security Council adviser, and Assistant Secretary of State, Tom joined fellow National Security leaders in signing an open letter calling for an end to the use of weapons of war on our streets. On March 24 he traveled to Washington DC with student groups from the 7th district to demand our Congressional representatives follow New Jersey’s lead and enact meaningful reforms to address gun violence.
