Malinowski’s Leadership Helped Lead to Introduction of Landmark Anti-Corruption and Reform Bill
End Citizens United (ECU) Action Fund President Tiffany Muller today praised Representative Tom Malinowski’s commitment to creating a democracy that works for all of us, which helped lead to the introduction of today’s comprehensive reform bill. This landmark legislation is a product of the 2018 election cycle that saw Malinowski and a wave of reformers run on a platform to unrig the system by calling for a sweeping reform bill at the top of the agenda in the new Congress.
“Representative Malinowski’s leadership has played a pivotal role in the introduction of this transformational anti-corruption and reform bill,” said Tiffany Muller, president of End Citizens United Action Fund. “Rep. Malinowski ran a campaign that was centered on unrigging the system so that government puts the needs of the people ahead of the special interests. ECU applauds Rep. Malinowski for leading in this fight and looks forward to working with him to pass historic reforms.”
Prior to Democrats taking back the House majority, Malinowski led a coalition of 107 House challenger candidates who sent a letter to the House of Representatives in October demanding that a reform bill be the first item on the agenda in 2019. Malinowski, who made reform a defining issue of his campaign, rejected corporate PAC money.
