Manasquan Borough Mayor Ed Donovan Announces His Candidacy For Re-election.

Mayor Ed Donovan officially announced his intention to run for re-election to a second four year term as the Mayor of Manasquan. The Mayor said, “After eight years on the Borough Council and four incredibly successful years as Mayor I am excited to announce my re-election campaign for Mayor. It has been an honor to serve as the Mayor of the town I grew up in and to follow in my father’s footsteps.

The work that the Council and I have done to improve the residents’ quality of life has been fulfilling, but it is by no means done. I am running for re-election to continue to move Manasquan forward in a positive way. My wife, Jane, who voluntarily serves on the Environmental Commission, the Tourism Commission, and the Board of Health and I are fully committed to ensuring that Manasquan remains the ‘Best Jersey Shore Town.’

As most of you already know, I served the residents of New Jersey as a State Trooper for 28 years before getting involved in local government. I am by no means a professional politician. My only motivation is to provide the best possible government for the residents of Manasquan. I have no aspirations for higher elected office.

We must continue on the path we’ve set that has resulted in a stable tax rate, necessary infrastructure improvements, flood mitigation, and improved communication, municipal services and public safety. I will continue to work with the business community to maintain a vibrant downtown and attract new businesses. I also will support the various traditional events, as well as new events that fit the character of the town that make Manasquan the special town it is.

I am asking for your support to continue this important work. If you would like to see the progress we have achieved over the last four years continue you must make your voice heard. I want to continue to move Manasquan forward for the residents, but I need your support to do so. Please contact me with any questions and thank you in advance for your support.”
