COVID Compliance Units helps to keep guns and drugs off streets

 

The weekend of May 15 – May 17 the following was reported:

 

Friday, May 15 

–       71 Field generated and dispatched assignments

–       37 summonses were issued

 

The COVID Compliance Police Units have responded to various locations that have had a high number of complaints in recent days, including:

–       12th Ave. / E. 23rd St.

–       17th Ave./ E. 28th St

–       Broadway/ Summer St.

–       Godwin Ave./Auburn St.

–       Carroll St./ Harrison St.

–       Haledon Ave./ E. Main St.

–       Montgomery Park

–       Eastside Park

–       Dave Stern Tire

 

The above-mentioned locations had groups of people who were not practicing social distancing.

 

Saturday, May 16

–       115 Field generated and dispatched assignments

–       79 Summonses were issued

–       Union Ave./ Manchester Ave.

–       Market St./ Straight St.

–       Pennington Park

–       Montgomery Park

–       Eastside Park

The above-mentioned locations had groups of people who were not practicing social distancing.

 

This tour resulted in the arrest of 2 individuals and the recovery of 3 firearms and 290 glassines of heroin.
