MAYOR ANDRE SAYEGH ANNOUNCES OPENING OF PATERSON PARKS

 

Today, June 16, Mayor Andre Sayegh announced the next phase in opening city parks. On Saturday, June 20, The City of Paterson will open Barbour Park, Montgomery Park, and Westside Park as well as opening Eastside park to vehicle traffic.

 

There has been a significant decrease in the number of COVID positive cases in Paterson. On Sunday, June 14, the City had only 3 new positive cases, the lowest number since the start of the COVID pandemic because of the data Mayor Sayegh feels that it is a safe decision to continue to open parks to the public.

 

“With Father’s Day approaching this weekend, we want to give families the opportunity to enjoy their time with their fathers in our parks,” said Mayor Andre Sayegh. “I believe that we are in a safe position to be able to continue to open parks for our residents as long as they follow safety guidelines.”

 

Paterson residents are encouraged to take safety precautions, practice passive recreation, and maintain social distancing in a continued effort to flatten the curve during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
