MAYOR BARAKA TO CALL FOR MORE FUNDING TO AVOID CITY FISCAL CRISIS AMID CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC
IN A PRESS CONFERENCE ON THURSDAY, APRIL 23, AT 11 A.M. AT NEW JERSEY PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
Newark, NJ-April 21, 2020—Mayor Ras J. Baraka will make a plea for additional federal funding to alleviate the economic impact of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) on the city in a press conference on Thursday, April 23, at 11 a.m., at New Jersey Performing Arts Center, located at 1 Center Street.
Business Administrator Eric Pennington, Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose, and Director of the Department of Health and Community Wellness Dr. Mark Wade will be alongside Mayor Baraka.
During the press conference, an update on the city’s response will be provided.

Once at the conference, those in attendance must wear cloth face coverings, gloves, and adhere to social distancing policies. One reporter and one camera person from every media outlet will be permitted entry. An audio mult box will be provided.
