Mayor Bhalla names Christine Stoll as Chief of Staff

Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla today announced the appointment of Christine Stoll as his new Chief of Staff, effective Feb. 28. Stoll brings almost a decade of experience in government and public service, having served in leadership roles across state and local governments in both New York and New Jersey.
“Christine brings a wealth of experience and a proven commitment to public service that make her exceptionally qualified to take on this critical role,” said Mayor Bhalla. “Her understanding of government operations, her ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, and her track record of successfully delivering for the community will make her an asset to my administration, and to the City of Hoboken. I am excited to welcome her to our team and look forward to collaborating with her to deliver meaningful quality of life improvements for our residents.”
Stoll served as Chief of Staff to Assemblyman John Allen, who represents Hoboken and parts of Jersey City. In this capacity, she played a key role in securing over $80 million for NJ TRANSIT flood protection measures at the Long Slip Canal, as well as funding for Hoboken Public Schools, Stevens Institute of Technology, and the Hoboken Public Library. She also organized educational workshops for Hoboken seniors, facilitated mobile Motor Vehicle Commission services, and established bi-monthly office hours to connect residents with Assemblyman Allen. In this role, she also managed constituent services, along with legislative, policy, budgetary, and communications functions for Assemblyman Allen. Additionally, she provided strategic counsel and ensured the efficient daily operations of his office.
Prior to her work in New Jersey, Stoll spent several years in New York State government. Most recently, she served as Director of Special Events in Governor Kathy Hochul’s administration, overseeing high-profile initiatives and statewide events. Her previous experience also includes serving as Chief of Staff to New York Assemblyman Mike Miller and working as a staff member for New York City Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley.
“I am honored to join Mayor Bhalla’s team and excited to work alongside such dedicated public servants,” said Stoll. “Serving the people of Hoboken in this new capacity is a privilege, and I look forward to helping advance initiatives that strengthen the Hoboken community and enhance the quality of life for all residents.”
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Stoll was elected as a District Leader in Queens where she represented over 30,000 constituents, and she played a role in the development of 21 in ‘21, a non-profit organization focused on empowering and electing more women to the New York City Council. She also currently serves on the New Jersey City University President’s Community Advisory Council.
As Chief of Staff, Stoll will oversee the daily operations of the Mayor’s Office, provide strategic guidance to Mayor Bhalla, and help implement policies and initiatives to enhance quality of life, improve City services, and increase efficiencies.
Stoll holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from George Washington University.
