Cutting Edge Concept for Senior Living Approved in Vineland
(Hammonton)—Richard Rehmann, President and CEO of ARH Associates, a leading New Jersey multidiscipline engineering firm headquartered in Hammonton, released the following statement today regarding Live Well Senior Cottages at Vineland, a groundbreaking retirement community that recently received approval in the City of Vineland.
“First, I would like to thank LWM Predevelopment, LLC (the development arm of Live Well Senior Cottages), for allowing us to serve as their client partner throughout this process. Their pioneering approach to creating unique and innovative independent senior housing with supportive services sets a new standard not only in New Jersey, but throughout the Country. Secondly, on behalf of the entire project team, I would like to extend our collective thanks and appreciation to the City of Vineland and Mayor Anthony Fanucci for their vision in making this project a reality. Their openness to innovation and demand for quality services made this project location a natural fit.”
The ARH Project Team was led by Senior Associate Carolyn Feigin, PE, PP, and required the inclusion of several in-house subject matter experts including design staff, planning and permitting.
The 24.6-acre development will comprise 130 senior living cottage style units within 80 buildings and offers personalized home care services and a central Community Center, all located at W. Sherman Avenue and S. Orchard Road. Live Well distinguishes itself from traditional Assisted Living and Age-Restricted Communities by providing seniors an active lifestyle which is also more affordable than traditional options.
Working with the City, ARH Associates Vice President of Planning Stuart Wiser, PP, AICP navigated and secured the Use Variance required to develop the site in the B-3 Business Zone.
The Live Well initiative integrates individualized cottage-style homes with small community-centric neighborhoods, shared amenities, and flexible levels of home care. Each self-contained pocket neighborhood encourages social interaction and provides appropriate services for seniors transitioning to age-in-place living. A 5,000 square foot Clubhouse, a Dog Park, and a Children’s Playground enhance the sense of community and shared experience.
The project also includes road widening, curbs, and the construction of sidewalks on the County Road frontages, and both the interior sitework and County roadway improvements have all been designed to meet the recently updated NJ stormwater regulations, with a minimal impact on traffic and no disruption to the school system.
Andy Jubelt, CEO of Live Well, expressed enthusiasm for the achieved milestones; “The Live Well Senior Cottages project sets a new standard in senior living focusing on lifestyle, services and lower cost to the residents. We look forward to showcasing this innovative community at Vineland with construction anticipated to commence in Summer of 2024,”.
