TRENTON, N.J. – Mayor Reed Gusciora will join mayors from eight other major cities around the country to attend a Mayor’s Leadership Institution on Smart Cities at New York University, Wagner School of Public Service. The forum’s focus is on best practices for innovation and technology for advancing cities.

“I am honored to be one of nine mayors chosen to take part in this unique conference sponsored by NYU’s Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and The United States Conference of Mayors,” said Mayor Gusciora. “The Institute’s aim is to provide fellow mayors with a clear path towards creating a smart city, by discussing current trends in innovation and advances in the field of technology.”

The conference is paid for by the U.S. Conference of Mayors and will provide group discussions as well as individual one-on-one sessions. Other mayors chosen are from Augusta, GA; Bridgeport, CN; Fontana, CA; Henderson, NV; Macon, GA; Pittsburgh, PA; Shreveport, PA; and Spokane, WA.

“I am very excited to be able to collaborate on some of the greatest challenges of being an executive in a major city, and I look forward to learning from other mayors how we can move our Capital City forward to becoming one of the leading smart cities in the country,” he said.
