Mayor Gusciora’s Statement on Anderson Funeral Home

Trenton N.J. –  Mayor W. Reed Gusciora issued the following statement regarding reports that there was an accumulation of bodies at Anderson Funeral Home in the City of Trenton:

“We were first apprised of a problem of deceased persons stored at a local funeral home by our police department.  The issue is now under the oversight of the New Jersey State Police and the State’s Medical Examiners Office, although no criminal wrongdoing was alleged.”

“This problem is being experienced by funeral homes all over the state.  Nonetheless, the deceased are now being transferred to the State’s (Central NJ) overflow morgue in Millstone.  We are still left with an overall sense of sadness as this pandemic has taken its toll on our City’s residents.”
