“We are incredibly grateful for the support and the enthusiasm Mayor Khairullah has generated for our historic campaign. If anyone understands the importance of inclusion and diversity at the decision making table, it’s Mayor Khairullah. While Prospect Park is not in the 37th district, he knows that when we put people in Trenton that reflect the people they serve, we all do better.”

“Thank you Mayor Khairullah for your dedication to the people of New Jersey and the values of the Democratic Party,” said Paul Juliano, Chairman of the Democratic Committee of Bergen County. “This historic ticket has seen an outpouring of support from across the state but none more enthusiastic than from leaders in our underrepresented, underserved communities. Mayor Khairullah, thank you for your tireless efforts to lift up the voices so often lost in our political realm, and thank you for such a successful, well attended event.” – Paul Juliano

“Prospect Park Mayor Khairullah continues to help elect Democratic candidates across the state,” said Chairman John Currie of the New Jersey State Democratic Committee and Passaic County Democratic Committee. “His fundraising efforts supporting candidates in LD 37 — Johnson, Haider, and Park — will help provide for an historic win for diversity in the state legislature. Mayor Mohamed T. Khairullah Statement and Endorsement:

“With everything that is going on globally, now more than ever we need to elevate the right people that will pave the way for others and make sure the voices of the most disadvantaged communities are heard. This is a historic opportunity for Muslim-Americans throughout the state as Shama Haider will become a much needed voice in our state legislature alongside one of the most diverse, if the not the most diverse ticket to run for State Office with the Johnson, Haider, and Park slate for LD 37. With diversity, comes unique perspectives that help push for progress. Both she and Councilwoman Park are compassionate, caring, and fearless advocates that will be valuable assets in helping mold a better state for all of us.

Assemblyman Gordon Johnson has been a champion in public service with a track record that has been nothing but spectacular. From his advocacy to expand access to health care, increase the minimum wage, enact stronger gun control laws, and ensure equal protection for all people regardless of class, race, religion, gender or who they love. This speaks volumes to his leadership and ability to bring people together.

Therefore, I was happy to lend a helping hand alongside the Ashraf brothers in hosting this fundraising event to help them get across he finish line ahead of a critical contested June Primary. We look forward to celebrating their victory and wish them all the best. “
