“Newark mourns the passing of President Jimmy Carter, and our hearts go out to his and his wife Rosalynn’s family and loved ones.

“Jimmy and Rosalynn embodied the kind of seamless partnership we strive for in Newark as we work together in a broad collaboration to raise everyone up. Providing housing, improving health and establishing peace and justice are just as important to us as they were to the President and First Lady, and we strive to accomplish these goals with the same humility, grace and unwavering faith that they demonstrated.
