Mayor Reed Gusciora Meets with County Executive Brian Hughes

Mayor Discusses Key Projects with County Leadership

TRENTON, NJ

At the start of Mayor of Trenton Reed Gusciora’s second term, he met with County Executive Brian Hughes to discuss critical areas for collaboration during the next four years.

County Executive Brian Hughes stated, “I look forward to working with Mayor Gusciora and the new Trenton City Council to develop a shared plan for the Capital City. Together, we can move Trenton and Mercer County forward.”

Topics discussed included the joint application for federal Infrastructure Funds for the realignment of Route 29 realignment, collaboration on the completion of the historic Broad Street Bridge, and the police radios that the County loaned the City when switching radio communication systems. Other topics included the County’s continued support of the Capital City Farm and the recent repaving of county roads in the Capital City such as Hamilton Avenue (between Chestnut and Chamber Street) and Chambers Street (between Roebling Avenue and Liberty Street, between Cedar Lane and Liberty Street, and between Hamilton Avenue and Greenwood Avenue).

Mayor Gusciora stated, “In my second term, we are looking to partner with Mercer County on critical projects of economic, social, and cultural value. I look forward to continuing this conversation with the County Executive and sharing new initiatives as they are announced.”
