MAYOR SAYEGH WELCOMES NEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TEAM

 

Paterson, New Jersey – On Tuesday, September 26, 2023, Mayor Andre Sayegh announced his appointment of a dynamic and accomplished Economic Development leadership team, reinforcing the city’s commitment to growth and prosperity. Starting on October 10, Director Tiffany L. Harris-Delaney and Assistant Director Washington Vivero will lead the Paterson Department of Economic Development.

 

Tiffany L. Harris-Delaney brings an impressive educational background to her role, with credentials that include an MBA in Management Technology from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), an MPA in Operational Inspection and Oversight from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and a Certificate in Leadership Principles from Harvard Business School. She is also a Certified SAFe Scrum Master, exemplifying her dedication to innovation and efficiency. Harris-Delaney’s previous role as Director of Policy, Planning, and Development for the City of East Orange showcased her ability to oversee the Department’s general operations, including budget preparation and administration, while continually striving to improve operations and streamline planning processes. Harris-Delaney managed five divisions and coordinated with the mayor, special committees, and consultants to execute strategies that met community needs in accordance with established city policies and available resources. She also played a pivotal role in planning and executing strategic initiatives that responded to the needs and goals of a fast-growing urban community of 70,000 residents, collaborating closely with City Hall departments to deepen community relationships.

 

Washington Vivero, the newly appointed Assistant Director of Economic Development, graduated from William Paterson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. With 30 years of experience as a business leader and entrepreneur, Vivero serves as the president and CEO of International Resources Group and is a former President/CEO of Vivero Construction. His expertise encompasses Broadband Telecommunications, 4G Technology, waste-to-energy systems, fuels, and public and private project funding and allocation, with a strong focus on business development, contract negotiations, construction management, and development. He maintains a hands-on approach throughout all phases of construction, including general construction and building of residential and commercial properties, preparation and revision of building plans, management and supervision of all construction phases, and liaison with architects, owners, zoning, and building officials to ensure compliance. Vivero is highly skilled in budget management, logistics, contract appraisals, and all aspects of construction.

 

Mayor Andre Sayegh warmly welcomed the new leaders, stating, “I am elated to welcome Tiffany L. Harris-Delaney and Washington Vivero to our team. Their wealth of experience and dedication to our city will undoubtedly contribute to our economic growth and the betterment of our community.”

 

Acting Director of Economic Development Christian Callegari praised Harris-Delaney, stating, “Tiffany brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our Department. Her commitment to equitable development and innovation will ensure Paterson reaches new heights of success.” Callegari will return to his role as Chief of Staff to the Mayor following the arrival of Harris-Delaney.
