Mazzeo and Armato Statement on Release of Stockton Funding

(TRENTON) – In response to the news that Governor Phil Murphy will release the remaining $121 million in frozen budget funds, including $4.6 million in funding for Stockton University’s expansion in Atlantic City over six months after it was approved, Assemblymen Vince Mazzeo and John Armato (both D-Atlantic) released the following joint statement:

“For more than half a year, we have called on the Governor to unfreeze the funding Stockton was granted under our State budget. We are relieved this day has finally arrived. This funding is imperative to the future success of Stockton’s Atlantic City campus. Stockton had hoped to use it to make much needed improvements to the Atlantic City campus before the 2021-22 school year. Now it will be far more difficult to accomplish that goal. The people of Atlantic County and all of New Jersey deserve better.”
