McKeon Condemns Antisemitic Acts Targeting Congregation Oheb Shalom in South Orange
TRENTON – Senator John McKeon (D-Essex/Passaic) released the following statement in response to an antisemitic incident that occurred at Congregation Oheb Shalom in South Orange on Sunday, January 26.
“These hateful actions, including protestors shouting antisemitic chants and vandalizing synagogue property, have no place in New Jersey. In these challenging times, we cannot allow intolerance to take root, and we must boldly call it out whenever it surfaces. Every protest should remain peaceful and respectful, upholding the dignity of all people. Unfortunately, that is not what occurred at Congregation Oheb Shalom this past weekend. As local leaders, we must unite in condemning these acts of hate and take concrete steps to safeguard the diverse, inclusive communities we cherish. I stand unwaveringly in solidarity with the Jewish community and strongly reject any form of discrimination.”
