McKeon on Horizon, Shutdown & Budget Vote:
“Absolutely Critical” to Stand Up for Policy Holders
(TRENTON) – Assemblyman John McKeon released the following statement:
“The Horizon bill did not need to be address during this budget season; however, we drafted and passed a bill that works for all parties involved. Chris Christie blinked and we now have a reasoned measure with oversight that is beneficial to policyholders—not special interest.
“It was absolutely critical for the Assembly to stand up to the Governor who held the state hostage over a confiscatory scheme that would have devastated 3.8 million citizens with increases to their healthcare premiums. Protecting them was our first priority.
“Delivering a budget that begins to address long-held concerns around education funding and vital state programs aiding working class families was the goal. We have done that. Now, New Jerseyans can get back to work and enjoy their holiday.”
