McKeon on NJ Transit Hearing
(TRENTON) – Assemblyman John F. McKeon issued the following statement on the joint transportation hearing today:
“NJ Transit has taken a tremendous hit over the last eight years with underfunding and decrease in staff and now, commuters are paying for it.
“The shortage of engineers is hurting service. It is devastating to discover that there are 400 employee vacancies in NJ Transit operations. We need to catch up.
“Whether it takes additional legislative action or an action by the Governor to hire more engineers outside of New Jersey, we need to immediately address commuters concerns.”
