McKeon Urges Democrats to Support Proposed Budget

(TRENTON) – Assemblyman John F. McKeon (D-Essex/Morris) issued the following statement Thursday in support of the Democratic budget:

“Assembly Democrats have put forth a solid budget that prioritizes working families. New Jersey’s children, women and senior citizens will benefit from a spending plan that puts education, domestic violence prevention and health care for some of our most vulnerable residents first.

“I support it.

“Going against this budget – particularly in the midst of such calamity at the federal level – is going against hard-working people in New Jersey who are simply trying to make ends meet. Democrats in the legislature are in the position to stand up on their behalf in this moment. Holding the state hostage for a Horizon bill that has significant negative long-term implications for New Jersey is irresponsible.”
