McKnight Statement on Fatal Jersey City Domestic Violence Attack

TRENTON – Senator Angela V. McKnight issued the following statement in response to the tragic triple homicide that took place in Jersey City on Wednesday night, in which a woman and two young children lost their lives. Preliminary reports indicate that the incident was related to domestic violence.

“Last night, our community was devastated by the loss of a woman and two small children in a senseless act of domestic violence. My heart breaks for the victims, their families and friends, and the people of Jersey City, for which this horrifying tragedy will, beyond a doubt, carry lifelong grief.

“Thank you to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, the Jersey City Police Department, and our dedicated social workers for responding and assisting with support services that will slowly help the community heal and learn from this devastating act. There is no place for this kind of brutality in our society, and I will continue to be a voice for all those affected by domestic abuse so that we can end this vicious and painful cycle.”
