Mehrotra and Montes Release Statement in Response to Pater Campaign Announcement

MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ—The Mehrotra and Montes for Council campaign today released a statement in response to Republican Rachel K. Pater’s announcement that she is running for Borough Council. In her statement, Pater stated that she is “honored to represent Mountainside on Council.”

“We welcome Ms. Pater to the race,” stated Dani Faibes, the Campaign Manager for the Mehrotra and Montes for Council Campaign, “However, we want to remind her that there is an election in November where Mountainside voters will decide who represents Mountainside on Council not Party insiders who just want another go-along get-along member. We have elections for a reason, and the residents will decide who best represents their values.

“Borough Council’s sense of ownership and entitlement are what got Mountainside into the trouble we’re in today. We need leaders who understand they represent Mountainside residents. Leaders who are willing to speak up against wrongdoing and do the right thing for Mountainside. We look forward to comparing our vision for Mountainside with that of Ms. Pater and Mr. Messler and letting the voters decide who will represent them.”
