Melham Flexes in Belleville, Huge VBM Plurality again, along with Convincing Election Day Ground Game

He did it again.  After, unseating a three term incumbent Mayor last May with giant vote by mail (VBM) numbers, Belleville Mayor Michael Melham’s #BetterBelleville BOE Slate just turned back the BOE President and incumbent with an impressive election day operation.

Just over 18-months ago, Melham, a then candidate for Mayor, lost on the machine, but delivered an overwhelming VBM plurality putting him and his two Council candidates over the top in the May Municipal Election.

Today, Mayor Melham’s handpicked slate, scored three convincing victories.  They will be joined by another Melham ally on the Belleville Board of Education once sworn in.

“Gaby, Luis and Ralph were great candidates and our organization ran an excellent, positive campaign.” Melham said. “Tonight we scored a double victory.  We had a great GOTV ground operation not only winning on the machine but crushing VBMs.  There is no doubt this convincing victory is a testament our collective hard work on the Council and positive changes throughout the Township over the past 18-months.  This a big win for Belleville.”
