Menendez, Booker to Join Voters and Activists at NJ CD3 Tele-Town Hall to Talk Costs of GOP Tax Cut
$2.3 Trillion GOP Tax Cut Comes at Expense of Transit, Road & Bridge Repair, Schools, Health Care
NEW JERSEY — U.S. Sens. Bob Menendez and Cory Booker will join advocates and ordinary voters, including many from Ocean and Burlington counties in Congressional District 3, for a tele-town hall to discuss the cost of the GOP tax cut and how that money could have otherwise been spent. U.S. Rep. Tom MacArthur’s has drawn ire from CD-3 voters by supporting the GOP’s $2.3 trillion dollar tax cut for corporations and the richest Americans. The tax cut will hamper the government’s ability to invest in expanding mass transit, fixing roads and bridges, repairing New Jersey’s schools for years to come — and threatens funding for health care and other vital programs that New Jerseyans rely on.
The senators, experts and advocates will discuss what #WeCouldHave invested in instead of a tax giveaway to the very wealthy and take questions from the audience.
