Momentum, Support Builds for Bob Menendez

Menendez raises over $2.5M in 2nd Quarter, outpaces Hugin 4:1

New Brunswick, N.J. – The Menendez for Senate campaign today announced that it raised over $2.5 million in the second quarter of 2018, a 29% bump over last quarter, and outpacing what was raised during the same period in 2012.  That’s compared to Republican Bob Hugin, who reportedly raised only $636,000 from outside donors this quarter, while cutting his campaign another $8 million check.

“The stakes in this election couldn’t be higher, and the support for Senator Menendez is as strong as ever. There’s momentum across the state and it’s growing,” said Campaign Chairman Michael Soliman. “Greedy drug company CEO Bob Hugin has spent millions of his own blood money made from ripping off cancer patients to try to buy this election and rubberstamp Donald Trump’s right-wing agenda.  New Jerseyans want a proven fighter like Bob Menendez, who will always have their backs and stand up to the failed policies of the Trump Administration.”

The $2,536,405.43 raised this quarter to help re-elect Bob Menendez includes $1,628,738.64 through the Menendez for Senate campaign, $697,587 to the Menendez Victory Fund, $175,079.79 in New Millennium PAC receipts, and $35,000 directly to the State Democratic Committee.  The campaign reported $1,799,726.31 total raised last quarter: $1,489,026.31 for the Menendez for Senate campaign, $235,200 to the Menendez Victory Fund, and $75,500 to New Millennium PAC.

To date, the Menendez campaign has raised around $11.2 million from outside donations.
