Mercer County GOP Chair Richford Statement On Hamilton GOP Primary

Kelly Yaede, incumbent Republican Mayor of Hamilton NJ defeated challenger Dave Henderson in the 2019 Primary Election.

LISA RICHFORD, MERCER COUNTY REPUBLICAN CHAIR PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – FRIDAY MAY 17, 2019

The reason why I did not give Mayor Yaede and her slate the line was to protect the integrity of the Republican Line on the Ballot.  I had no alternative, but to do so.  I followed the law and did what was in the best interest of the Republican Party.

With Yaede and her circle’s continued long history of bad behavior, with the disenfranchisement of  Delegates at the special meeting to elect their Chair Dennis Pone;  to rigging the vetting process of picking candidates and partnering with longtime and well known Glen Gilmore Democrats Vinnie Capadonno and former Gilmore Public Works Director Richard Balgowan to run on the Republican slate, the shock of the announcement made our beloved Former Mayor Jack Rafferty immediately stand up and walk out of the Hamilton Republican Convention in dismay;  to Yaede’s mistreatment of those who around her who do not fall into line;  to Yaede’s and her circle’s blatant attempt to sabotage the Mercer County Republican Convention by intentionally boycotting the Convention in a failed effort, so that a quorum would not be met.   Sorry to disappoint, showing the solidarity of the Mercer County Republican Committee, a quorum was met and no one missed them.  Yaede and her circle do not want unification.  Unification to them is equivalent to shut up and submit.     Yaede has alienated Republicans not just locally, but across the State.   So when the rest of the state doesn’t do what she wants them to do with regard to me, she resurrects and rolls out Inverso, Prunetti, Hansbury, Rafferty and Dougherty, those who have personal agendas and their own interests for a Press Conference under the bogus guise of calling it a Unification Press Conference to falsely denigrate me publicly on the front steps of the Hamilton Township Municipal Building and call for my resignation.   All awhile while Yaede gazes down and watches from just above them,  from a window of the Hamilton Township Taxpayers’ paid for Government Building.   Now that is undeniably political.

Yaede claims that the animal shelter arrests are political.   They are the furthest thing from political.   Once again, she never ever takes personal responsibility for anything, it is always someone else’s fault.  She continues to alienate and blame everyone else including neighboring Mayors Fried and Gusciora, Council members,  even Prosecutor Onofri and Governor Murphy and beyond.

I was forced to get involved, there was absolutely no personal vendetta as falsely claimed by Yaede and her circle behind about what I did.   I followed the law and rules and in the best interest of the Republican Party, did the only thing that had to be done and that was to protect the integrity of the Republican Line and the democratic process.

When the Yaede Circle including those grasping to their political relevancy tell you that I did not follow protocol,  I will tell you that the law is the protocol and that no one is above the law.
