MERCER COUNTY REPUBLICAN SHERIFF CANDIDATE BRYAN BOCCANFUSO CALLS FOR DEBATE TO DISCUSS CHALLENGES FACING MERCER COUNTY

Hamilton, NJ – Mercer County Republican Candidate for Sheriff, Bryan ‘Bucky’ Boccanfuso said today that the importance of a debate of critical County law enforcement issues is essential to inform the voters and calls on Sheriff Kemler to come out of hiding and discuss the shortcomings of his tenure and the important issues he has failed to adequately address during his years as Sheriff.  “I will make myself available any time and any place to discuss the law enforcement problems in Mercer County” Boccanfuso said, he continued “Kemler can outline the debate rules and choose the moderator but I will insist we discuss his lack of effort when it comes to community policing, his failure to get the illegal guns off the streets of Trenton, rampant nepotism and campaign contributions.’

His vision for the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department is to serve the entire County with commitment, accountability, dignity, honor and respect.  Bryan’s plan is for the Capitol County in New Jersey to be a beacon of law enforcement leadership throughout the State. Bryan’s Campaign Mission Statement includes working together with community partners throughout the County to preserve life, protect property and promote public safety while managing shared services for fiscal responsibility. This will be accomplished through leading by example, with active oversight of all programs, and being accountable to every citizen in the County. Some of his Goals and Objectives include prioritizing resources to combat the opioid crisis throughout the county and address all forms of substance abuse that plague our community.  Focusing on the spike in violent crime in Trenton and teaming with the County Prosecutor, the City of Trenton and all stakeholders to expand and initiate, where necessary,  programs aimed at the reduction of violence, open air drug sales and other gang activity that have surged out of control, resulting in a record high homicide rate. Additionally, will work more closely with all municipal Police Chiefs and Directors to understand and support their needs by offering the Sheriff’s Department as an emergent need. Finally taking an active leadership role with the Mercer County Rapid Response Partnership.
