to Host Passport Event for East Brunswick Residents

 

 

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ – Middlesex County Clerk Nancy J. Pinkin, in partnership with Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman, and East Brunswick Mayor Brad Cohen will be offering passport services at the East Brunswick Public Library, located at 2 Jean Walling Civic., on Thursday, May 4 from 2 pm to 5 pm. Middlesex County residents interested in renewing or applying for a passport are encouraged take advantage of this outreach service. Passport photos are also available on site.

 

“Current passport application wait times are 10-13 weeks plus mail time. If your passport is expiring within 1 year you should renew your passport. The anticipated high volume of summer travel may further increase wait times,” said Middlesex County Clerk Nancy J. Pinkin, “We have been working with Mayor Cohen to add this extra mobile clinic to provide our residents as an additional option to begin their application early.”

 

“The partnership between Middlesex County Clerk Pinkin, Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman, and Mayor Brad Cohen in putting this event together is just another example of how effective collaboration in our County provides positive benefits to our overall community,” said Middlesex County Commissioner Director Ronald G. Rios, “By working together we are able to easily and efficiently provide residents with access to resources to obtain, or renew, their passports.”

 

Currently, routine processing times for passports are 10 to 13 weeks and expedited processing takes 7 to 9 weeks for an additional $60.

 

To apply for a United States passport, applicants will need 1) Proof of U.S. Citizenship in the form of a state-certified birth certificate, a U.S. naturalization certificate, or a previous U.S. Passport; and 2) Proof of Identity in the form of a current driver’s license or State-issued identification card. No cash or credit cards will be accepted at this event. A check or money order is required. Appointments are recommended and you may call 732-745-3405 to reserve your spot walk-ins will be accepted. 

 

If you are unable to take advantage of the passport event, the County Clerk’s Office processes United States passport applications on a regular basis, Monday through Friday, at the County Clerk’s Office, 75 Bayard St., New Brunswick. To make an appointment, call 732-745-3405.
