EDISON — Middlesex County Democratic Latino Leaders condemn the remarks made by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe at yesterday’s Trump Rally. |

“We all should support free speech, but none of us should tolerate hate speech,” said Middlesex County Commissioner Director Ronald G. Rios. “The comments made about Puerto Rico at yesterday’s Trump rally were despicable, dehumanizing, and unacceptable. I condemn those remarks, and all of the hate speech that came out of yesterday’s rally, in the strongest possible terms. Former President Trump had every opportunity to condemn those remarks when he spoke, and chose not to. This shows the type of leader he is and how unfit he is to be our next President.” |

“As an immigrant and someone who dedicated their life to public service, I cannot believe someone asking voters to trust them to lead our country would allow hate speech at a campaign event,” said Middlesex County Commissioner Claribel Azcona-Barber. “Millions of Latinos call America their home – we work here, we raise our families here, and contribute to the US economy. America needs a leader who will unite, not divide. I condemn this event and all of the divisive speech that has come out of it.” |
