Middlesex County supports the statewide vaccination effort by opening six COVID-19 vaccine sites throughout the County

County vaccination sites will be open based on vaccine availability and individual eligibility based on State’s phased approach

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ –Middlesex County has established six vaccine sites as New Jersey continues its statewide rollout of the COVID-19 vaccination. These locations, in addition to the State-run Middlesex County Regional COVID-19 Vaccine Mega-Site, located in Edison Township, is another step in providing the public with access to COVID-19 vaccination sites.

The expanded Middlesex County vaccine site locations include:

  • East Brunswick Community Arts Center
  • Monroe Township Senior Center
  • The Heldrich Hotel and Conference Center in New Brunswick
  • Middlesex County Office of Health Services in Piscataway
  • Middlesex County Fire Academy in Sayreville
  • Middlesex County Vocational and Technical School in Perth Amboy

These vaccination sites will be open strictly based on vaccine supply to the County and residents will be eligible for vaccination based on the State’s phased approach which allows for vaccines to be distributed in a fair and equitable manner.

“Throughout this global pandemic, Middlesex County has taken a multi-tiered approach to fighting this deadly virus, and our vaccine locations are a logical step” said County Commissioner Director, Ronald G. Rios. “By opening more COVID-19 vaccine sites throughout the County, we can support the State in administering and dispensing the vaccine to all eligible residents efficiently.”

Middlesex County began administering and dispensing the preventative COVID-19 vaccine, developed by Moderna and approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for emergency use, to Phase 1A recipients in late December 2020. Per the State’s priority guidelines for vaccination eligibility, the County is currently administering and dispensing the COVID-19 vaccine to qualified recipients in Phase 1A and part of Phase 1B.

Middlesex County is also the site of one of New Jersey’s six mega-site vaccination centers. The Middlesex County Regional COVID-19 Vaccine Mega-Site, located in Edison Township at the New Jersey Convention & Exposition Center (97 Sunfield Avenue, Edison, NJ), is equipped with 20 vaccination stations. The Mega-Site will be open Monday through Friday from 8 am until 4 pm. Administration of up to 2,400 COVID-19 vaccinations can occur at the site per day to qualified individuals as per the State’s priority guidelines, which now include individuals at high-risk. The Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines, both currently granted with Emergency Use Authorization by the FDA, will be administered at the site. Qualified individuals must pre-register online for an appointment to receive the vaccine at covid19.nj.gov (click vaccine info).

For more information and resources about COVID-19 and how to register for the vaccine please visit, www.middlesexcountynj.gov/covid19. Individuals who cannot register online, or who have more detailed questions, should call the County’s Call Center at 732-745-3100.

Registrants of the vaccine will not have the option to select the vaccine-maker of their choice, vaccines are strictly predicated on supply provided by the federal government.
