MIDDLESEX COUNTY YOUNG DEMOCRATS & MIDDLESEX COUNTY DEMOCRATIC ORGANIZATION TO HOST A VIRTUAL GOTV BUS TOUR AND RALLY

EDISON — In the midst of a historic pandemic, the Middlesex County Young Democrats (MCYD) continue their commitment to local voter engagement and getting out the vote.

Every year the Middlesex County Young Democrats, in partnership with the Middlesex County Democratic Organization (MCDO), sponsor a GOTV Bus Tour Rally the Sunday before Election Day. The Bus Tour and GOTV Rally have become a staple of campaign season in Middlesex County, and this year is no exception. Spearheaded by newly elected President Gail Lalla and seasoned Executive Vice President Brian Boyell, MCYD and MCDO have decided to move the Bus Tour and Rally to an all-virtual event to ensure everyone’s safety.

“Your vote on or before Tuesday will help change the direction of this country and away from the chaos of the last four years,” said Middlesex County Democratic Chairman Kevin P. McCabe. “GOTV is one of the most important parts of the campaign cycle and we have come to rely on the GOTV Bus Tour and Rally to be our final push to get voters to the polls, especially because our local elections are where decisions come down to just a few hundred votes, sometimes less. This year is no exception, and I am excited to see the enthusiasm from our Young Dems to keep our tradition alive in the midst of a pandemic.”

“This is the most important election that we have ever had – when we cast our ballots this year we are not just voting for our next president but for the soul of our nation,” said MCYD President Gail Lalla. “We cannot let COVID stop us from getting voters activated at every level of the political process. I am incredibly proud of the work the Young Dems have done this election cycle and the work we did to make the GOTV Bus Tour and Rally going while keeping everyone safe.”
