Middlesex-Somerset County Central Labor Council Backs Malinowski

(Bridgewater, NJ) Last night, the Middlesex-Somerset Central Labor Council voted to support the candidacy of Tom Malinowski for Congress in his bid to challenge Rep. Leonard Lance in the fall. The Middlesex-Somerset CLC represents all AFL-CIO affiliated labor locals in their region.

“The affiliated locals of the Middlesex-Somerset Central Labor Council are proud to recommend Tom Malinowski for AFL-CIO endorsement,” said Council President Wayne Martiak.

“I take great pride in receiving the support of our area Central Labor Council. Workers rights are under siege in this country and I am committed to partnering with the New Jersey AFL-CIO to ensure this district’s hard working men and women get a fair deal,” remarked Malinowski. “A living wage, a safe and discrimination free workplace, and the ability to negotiate for a better quality of life should be the right of all people.”

Tom is former Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor. He oversaw the State Department’s Office of International Labor Affairs, serving as the chief advocate for worker protections in our international trade agreements and providing support to trade union activists around the world.
