MIKE DONOHUE RE-ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF CAPEGOP
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JUNE 24, 2024
Cape May Court House, NJ: Cape May County Republicans gathered tonight at the Bellevue Tavern for their Quadrennial Reorganization and unanimously re-elected CapeGOP Chairman Mike Donohue to a four year term. Donohue served as Chairman from June 2010 through December 2015 and from July 2020 to the present, taking a four+ year hiatus as he served as a Judge of the Superior Court. Donohue, from Dennis Township, is a former Stone Harbor Borough Councilman and two-time candidate for State Assembly.

Melanie Collette was nominated by Donohue to serve another four year term as Vice Chair and re-upped by acclamation. Collette first became Vice Chair in 2020 and has since been elected to the Board of County Commissioners. Collette is a frequent contributor on NewsMax and other Conservative news outlets.

”I am incredibly lucky to have the support of such great people on our County Republican Committee,” Donohue said. “Without you, we have nothing. We have no campaigns, no get-out-the-vote effort and no Republican elected officials. I could not be more excited about this election cycle with President Trump, Curtis Bashaw for US Senate, Congressman Van Drew, Commissioner Len Desiderio and our great local candidates. We have a lot of work to do and I know that the hardworking men and women of the CapeGOP will roll up their sleeves as they always do.”

”Having now-Commissioner Melanie Collette return as Vice Chair is tremendous. She is a huge asset to our Organization and probably the hardest working Vice Chair in the State of New Jersey.”

”I’m excited to be returning as CapeGOP Vice Chair,” said Commissioner Melanie Collette. “No matter where I go in the state, people tell me how impressed they are with our Organization and our Chairman. As a Conservative and political commentator I am always so proud to be recognized as the Vice Chair of the CapeGOP.”

”We are the luckiest Republican Organization to have the best County Republican Chairman in the state,” Said Commission Director Len Desiderio. “And now we know we have Mike for four more years. I can’t wait to be along for the ride, which is always fun with Chairman Donohue at the wheel!”
