Mike Ghassali Opens Campaign HQ
Montvale, NJ—Last night, Mike Ghassali, Republican candidate for New Jersey’s 5th Congressional District spoke to a packed house of supporters at his Montvale Headquarters grand opening which featured a number of elected officials, grassroots activists and a conservative radio talk show host and commentator.
Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi was among a number of elected officials who attended the kickoff, along with Woodcliff Lake Mayor Carlos Rendo, Bergenfield Mayor Norman Schmelz and Hillsdale Councilman Zoltan Horvath.
“We live in a country where there is opportunity to prosper, to follow your passion, your hopes and dreams and they can go as high as they want to be,” said Ghassali in his speech to supporters.
Ghassali continued, “My record as Mayor is one that has brought 110 new businesses to Montvale, while companies have been fleeing the state in record numbers. We added over 4,000 new jobs, kept our tax increases at 0% and maintain a town surplus. I did it here in Montvale now we need someone who can bring that type of record and experience to Washington.”
Ghassali highlighted key points of his campaign platform that includes securing our borders, defunding sanctuary cities, repealing the SALT cap and fighting for New Jersey’s middle class. During his speech, Ghassali spoke about his own journey in coming to the United States as a Syrian immigrant, who fled religious persecution and has lived the American dream.
“Everyone from grassroots activists, to the over two dozen elected officials who have endorsed this campaign know that Mike Ghassali is the only candidate who has the platform, the support and the ability to defeat Josh Gottheimer next November,” said Ghassali campaign manager Rich Castaldo.
Conservative commentator and Navy SEAL veteran Jonathan Gilliam also addressed the crowd of over 100 attendees. Gilliam stressed the importance of Republicans sticking together between now and Election Day to deliver a win and bring back common sense to Washington.
The new office will serve as the Ghassali campaign headquarters, along with the second field office located in Rochelle Park. Other campaign offices in the western part of the district are currently in the works.
