Mikie Sherrill Wins Morris County Democratic Nomination

Fairfield, NJ — Last night Morris County Democrats held their nominating convention for the 2018 congressional primary. The delegates overwhelmingly voted for Mikie Sherrill to represent them on the June ballot. In response to the nomination, Sherrill released the following statement:

“I am so honored to have the support of the Morris County Democrats. Since May, I’ve gone to diners, living rooms, and events all over Morris County to talk to residents and earn their support. I’m excited to continue our work together and flip the 11th in November.”

Yesterday’s vote will set the Democratic line for Morris County. In addition to tonight’s endorsement, Sherrill has also received the endorsement of all four Democratic county chairs in the 11th District: Chip Robinson in Morris, LeRoy Jones in Essex, John Currie in Passaic, and Leslie Huhn in Sussex County. Twenty-three Morris County elected officials and municipal chairs also announced their endorsement of Sherrill. She has the support of former New Jersey Governor Richard Codey, Assemblywoman Mila Jasey, Woodland Park Mayor Keith Kazmark, the Woodland Park Council, Parsippany Mayor Michael Soriano, Parsippany Councilwomen Janice McCarthy and Emily Peterson, gubernatorial candidate Jim Johnson, and the LD-25 slate of Lisa Bhimani, Richard Corcoran, and Tom Moran.
