MON: Press Conference- Empower NJ Joins Legislators on How NJ Can Combat Change

NJ State Legislators will join Empower NJ at the Statehouse for a press conference on how the state can combat climate change and promote a green economy.  New Jersey is being impacted by climate change and it is getting worse. We are being overrun by fossil-fuel infrastructure projects that will deepen climate impacts. If 8 proposed pipelines and 5 power plants are all built, they will increase our CO2 and GHG by 32% and block Governor Murphy’s 100% renewable energy goals. It is critical that New Jersey moves quickly to 100% renewable energy, expand EV use and reduce greenhouse gases to combat climate change.

Who: Senator Weinberg, Senator Bateman, Senator Deignan, Assemblyman McKeon, Assemblyman Zwicker, and Assemblyman Calabrese along with the groups from the Empower NJ Coalition including, NJ Sierra Club, Clean Water Action, Food & Water Watch, Delaware Riverkeeper Network, Environment NJ, and BlueWave NJ

What: Press conference on ways NJ can combat climate change and promote a green economy

Where: Steps of the Statehouse Annex, 125 W State St, Trenton, NJ 08608

When: Monday, June 10, 2019 at 12:30pm
