Monmouth County Democrats elect Chairwoman Dyese Davis and Vice-Chairwoman Deana Gunn in the County’s Historical Reorganization.
TINTON FALLS, NEW JERSEY – With over 300 Delegates composed of Chairs, Vice-Chairs and County Committee members across Monmouth County, the County has elected Chairwoman Dyese Davis and Vice-Chairwoman Deana Gunn in a virtual County Reorganization meeting Monday evening in an uncontested election.
“I am grateful to our County Committee for electing me as the first elected Black woman Chair in the state of New Jersey. As Chair, I am committed to progressing the Monmouth County Democrats into a new chapter – and to move onwards into a bright future of success and prosperity in our movement. Myself and Vice-Chairwoman Deana Gunn will lead with a core objective to activate the County’s Democratic base and foster a foundation for expansion, revitalization, and change”, states Dyese Davis. “ Our County Party has grown, prospered, and persisted through these last 8 years under the leadership of Chairman David G. Brown II and Vice-Chairwoman Mary Foster-Schoales and I thank them for not only stepping into their leadership but having the faith in us to further the mission of the Monmouth County Democratic Organization.”
Vice-Chairwoman Deana Gunn states “This historic election marks a pivotal moment for MCD, and I am honored by the support we have seen for our shared vision for what this county can be. As Vice-Chair, I’m dedicated to building on the successes of 2023. Our local elections showcased our Party’s commitment and the dedication of our Chairs, County Committee, elected officials, volunteers and, most importantly, the voters. Moving forward, we’ll focus on strengthening local organizing and engagement across the county in 2024, emphasizing the importance of every election.”

The Monmouth County Democrats welcome its new leadership of Dyese Davis & Deana Gunn alongside executive board members, Meg Thomann as Recording Secretary, Dr. Veverly Wyche as Corresponding Secretary, Victoria Pacheco as Treasurer, and Nicholas Williams as Sergeant-at-Arms. The Monmouth County Democrats invites all registered Democrats to join their organization.
