Monmouth Dems Mandate Training
Today, Chairman David G. Brown II and the Monmouth County Democrats’ Executive Board announced that the party will be holding mandatory anti-harassment training sessions. The party will retain the New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Violence to conduct the trainings.
All Executive Board members, Municipal Chairs, Caucus Chairs and declared candidates seeking the Monmouth County Democrats support will be required to take one of the two training sessions. Any Municipal Chairs, Monmouth Democrats’ Executive Board Members, Caucus Chairs or declared candidates who seek to run on the Monmouth County Democrats column this year, who do not take one of the two scheduled trainings will be denied the following:
* Any and all voter file access and database access from the Monmouth County Democrats
* Any financial support from the Monmouth County Democrats
* Promotion on the Monmouth County Democrats’ social media and website
The two training sessions, approximately four hours each, will be held on February 22nd, 2020 and March 14, 2020. Any active Monmouth Democrat can also participate. For individuals who can’t make either training, they will need to take a similar, pre-approved training held elsewhere.
“We are the first county party in the state to make it mandatory for our Municipal Chairs and declared candidates to take the anti-harassment training. For our municipal chairs and declared candidates who don’t take it, they will be denied support from the Monmouth County Democrats. This is one of the many steps the Monmouth County Democrats will take to change the culture in politics in the upcoming months,” stated Chairman David G. Brown II.
