Monmouth University Polling Institute Rated 5th Best in the Country by FiveThirtyEight

Monmouth has been at the top of the polling analyst’s rankings since 2014

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (January 29, 2024) – The Monmouth University Polling Institute again has been named one of the top survey research organizations in the country by FiveThirtyEight, the independent election poll analysis site. Monmouth ranked #5 out of 539 organizations included in the ratings. In addition to earning high marks for the accuracy of its polls, Monmouth was recognized for its high level of transparency, scoring a 9.9 out of 10 on that measure. Monmouth has consistently appeared at the top of FiveThirtyEight’s ratings chart since 2014. In addition to its ongoing national polling, the Polling Institute entered into a partnership this year with another highly rated polling outlet, The Washington Post, to cover the 2024 presidential primaries.

“The consistent recognition of excellence at Monmouth University is very gratifying,” said Monmouth University President Patrick F. Leahy. “The Monmouth University Poll is a trusted resource for policymakers, and we appreciate the validation from FiveThirtyEight’s evaluation that puts us in the top five of the leading national polling organizations.”

The Monmouth University Polling Institute was established to be a leading center for the study of public opinion on important state and national issues. Patrick Murray was named the founding director of Monmouth University Polling Institute in 2005.
