Monmouth YR Chair Manning to Disgraced NJYRF Chair Conlon: Resign or Be Removed
(Colts Neck, NJ– March 11, 2024) Following the recent indictments and allegations made against current New Jersey Young Republican Federation Chairman Matthew Conlon, Michael Manning, the Chairman of the Monmouth County Young Republicans, issued the following statement:
“The investigation by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and West Milford Police Department revealed serious allegations against Chairman Conlon that cannot be overlooked or excused. Such behavior is entirely incompatible with the principles and values that every New Jersey Young Republican should stand for.
“We demand Chairman Conlon step down from his role and allow for the election of new leadership to ensure the continued integrity of the New Jersey Young Republican Federation.
“The Monmouth County Young Republicans stand with the victims of sexual assault and harassment, and we remain committed to fostering an environment of accountability and respect within our political community.”
Manning, an attorney, is in his third term as Chairman of the Monmouth County Young Republicans. The Monmouth YRs is one of the largest and most active Young Republican organizations in the State.
