Monroe Councilman Charles Dipierro Responds to Democrats Refusal to Debate

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Monroe NJ- Monroe Councilman and candidate for Mayor Charles Dipierro, and council candidates Peter LoPresti and David Rothman released the following statement in response to news that their Democratic opponents refused to take part in a League of Women Voters sponsored forum that they had previously agreed to take part in.

“Mayor Tamburro and his running mates owe an explanation to the residents of Monroe about why they keep cancelling their debate appearances.  If these last four years have shown anything, it is that the Mayor is clearly not up for the job, and his refusal to debate us just affirms this.  Mayor Tamburro has overseen runaway development skyrocket and our schools reach unprecedented levels of overcrowding yet refuses to do anything that might upset party bosses and Governor Murphy.  It is obvious why our opponents are less than confident in their record and refused to debate us.” Stated Dipierro, LoPresti and Rothman.

The voters of Monroe have a choice this November. Charles Dipierro, Peter LoPresti and David Rothman will fight runaway development and overcrowding in schools while keeping taxes down, and put the residents of Monroe above partisan politics, developers and other special interests.
