Montclair Mayor Sean M. Spiller Honors Women in Labor

Hetty Rosenstein and Marie Blistan Honored at Montclair Fundraiser

 

Hetty Rosenstein and NJEA President Marie Blistan were the Honorees at a campaign fundraiser for Montclair Mayor Sean M. Spiller held at the MC Hotel in Montclair, NJ,Wednesday evening.

Honoree and outgoing NJEA President Marie Blistan thanked Mayor Spiller for the recognition and to his commitment to the labor movement. “Mayor Spiller recognizes the important contributions women have made in the advancement of working people across the state and throughout our country. We’ve come a long way, but there’s still so much critical work to be done. I’m proud to call Mayor Sean Spiller a colleague, and a friend.”

New Jersey Democratic Chairman Leroy Jones called Mayor Spiller a rising star within the Democratic Party. “I’ve watched Sean Spiller grow as a leader from his time on the town council, to now serving as Mayor of the great township of Montclair. Sean is a rising star for the Democratic party in New Jersey.”

Mayor Spiller for his part was optimistic, but sober as Montclair and the nation continue to fight a daunting battle against the Coronavirus. “The last 18 months have been an unprecedented challenge for Montclair, and communities across the country. I’ve been inspired by the way our community has come togetherOur first responders, health care professionals and educators have all answered the call and demonstrated the very best of what Montclair is all about. We’re not out of the woods yet, but by working together and remaining steadfast in our ideals I know our future is bright”
